Chests

Green Square Antiques carries many fantastic chests. Some may date back to the 1600s, but most are from the 16th century until the 1900 th century. So we carry virtually all types of chests - rococo chests, commoners’ chests, oak chests, painted chests, pillow top chests. You will also find a special selection of antique Chinese chests in black or red lacquer. Many with original decorations. Or have a look at the special camphor tree kimono chests, which are covered with leather and painted with lacquer colours in white, red or brownish shades. Camphor tree was popular, because it had the capacity to keep moths away.

Even today antique chests remain popular, beautiful as they are. They offer the opportunity of adding a unique touch to a home – even a contemporary home.
